WORSHIP AND FORMATION LEADERSHIP GROUP
|
About the W&L leadership group
It is our intention at St. James Church to offer faith formation for all ages. In worship, we seek to be a Eucharistic and music centered parish. We commit to this for several reasons; to help us grow spiritually in faith and practice as we expand out ways of knowing and experiencing God, to ensure that our worship at St. James is positive and enriching, and to welcome all persons who desire to be part of this faith community.
The Worship and Formation Leadership group is an advisory body to the Rector charged with overseeing worship and formation in the parish. The Leadership Group :
- helps plan worship services and formation opportunities for all ages
- schedules participants and presenters
- provides training as needed
- evaluates events
- assists in other ways to help provide quality worship and formation experiences at St. James Church.
Sunday School, Youth Confirmation and Via Media are some examples of formation opportunities in this parish for various age groups. Parish-wide generosity enables us to continue providing quality worship enhanced by our music ministry and the ministry of the Altar Guild, and to financially support a full-time Rector, part-time music minister and part time Church School Director. We give thanks for all the many ways we are invited to worship God, and be more fully formed as baptized Christians in this place.

Please know that you are welcomed to share your hopes, feelings and desires for formation and worship experiences with our Minister of Children - Jenn, our Service Minister - Sandra, our Minister of Music - Richard, or with any one of us in the Worship and Formation Leadership group - Karen A, Diane B, Alistair C, Kathy C., Ken I, Patricia J, Don N, Wendy W or Jim W. Those interesting in becoming involved with the group may contact the chair person, Alistair Campbell.

Fair trade coffee St. James Church uses fair trade coffee. We see this as one step we can take in helping to alleviate poverty in the world by helping these farmers provide financially for their families.
