Special Worship Events
St. James holds Christmas services (family service and evening candle light service), Lessons and Carols, Epiphany service with Pageant, Ash Wednesday, Palm Sunday, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Easter Vigil and Easter Sunday services. Last year, we also had a parish service at the Kirkland Town park followed by a picnic, and a St. Francis Service on the Village Green with Blessing of the Animals.
St. James holds an annual U2Charist service on May. U2Charist is a multi-media service of Holy Eucharist (holy communion service) that features the music of the rock band U2 highlight the important themes of global reconciliation and justice for the poor and the oppressed. Haiti was struck by a magnitude 7.0 earthquake, on Jan 12, 2010 and Chile suffered a 8.8 earthquake on Feb. 28th. St. James outreach has sent more than $1200 in Haiti relief funds. At the Parish pancake brunch on Feb 14th, we collected another $800 which will be send shortly. To donate material goods; go to Agape Flights. Agape Flights is flying often and able to land in Port au Prince. The supplies are reaching the medical clinics, orphanages, schools, and churches.

Fair trade coffee St. James Church uses fair trade coffee. We see this as one step we can take in helping to alleviate poverty in the world by helping these farmers provide financially for their families.
