SERVERS (LEMS, ushers, acolyte, altar guild)
|
Altar Guild
The altar guild prepares the candles, bread and wine for each service and cleans the chalice and paten afterwards. We welcome new members. Typically, we work in pairs for four to five weeks a year, and can arrange to serve on either Saturday or Sunday, depending on the service we usually attend.
|
Lay Readers
Members of the congregation are invited to read the lessons (Old and New Testament readings) during Sunday worship. Interested people should contact our Wardens, Heidi Philley or Jim White, or our Reader coordinator, Wendy Weber.
Acolytes
Youth from 4th grade up are invited to serve as acolytes at St James. Acolytes help during the service by carrying the processional cross during the processional and recessional (entrance and exit), getting the Sunday school children after the Prayers of the People, and helping the Rector during the Eucharist. Interested youth (and those of other age groups) should contact our acolyte coordinator, Kate D'Angelo.
We give thanks for the ministry of our acolytes: Audra, Ben, Camille, Charlotte, Connor, Cory, Dakota, Darby, Helena, Logan, Natalie, Nicolas, Nicole, Rachel, Sam, Sara, Soren, Susie, Taylor and Tim.
Ushers
Additional ushers are needed for both services. Please contact Jim or Kathy White if you are interested..

Fair trade coffee St. James Church uses fair trade coffee. We see this as one step we can take in helping to alleviate poverty in the world by helping these farmers provide financially for their families.
