Our Search for a Rector (clergy)
and our Interim Period (time between Rectors)

The Parish Profile
The profile is our statement of who we are and how we envision our future path and growth. The profile was adopted and approved by the Vestry on Dec 16, 2009, and approved by the Diocese. The profile is the basic document that is published through the National Church Deployment Office to attract potential rector candidate responses.  Click here to see the St. James 2010 parish profile.
The Parish Survey
Thank you to all 130 who completed the Parish Survey in October 2009. For the survey results,  click here.
St. James will go through a self-study Interim period.
In January, 2010, the Parish Profile was printed. It is on its way to the Church Deployment Office. To see it, click on the link above.  The official CDO form was approved by the vestry and is at the National Church's Deployment Office.  The Diocesan office has indicated the Search Committee may have candidates to review as early as mid- March.  Click here to learn more...

In December 2009, the vestry approved the Parish Profile. This is the document which will be sent to Rector candidates.

In November 2009, several  focus groups were held to discuss the survey results and to allow people another chance to add input.

In October 2009, all over the age of 16 were encouraged to complete a parish survey; 130 completed the survey. The survey was analyzed by an external consulting firm (Holy Cow!) and are being discussed by members of the search committee.

When you're asked to serve, please say "yes, I will!"  "For we are many parts of the Body."

The Rev. Jenny Montgomery,  our Rector for seven years, continues her call to serve God at the parish of St. Andrew's in Arlington,Virginia.

We fondly recall the time that we shared together.  To see pictures of our May celebration, click here. We look forward to all that God  is doing, and will do through us at St. James Church during this Interim period.

Fair trade coffee
St. James Church uses fair trade coffee. We see this as one step we can take in helping to alleviate poverty in the world by helping these farmers provide financially for their families.
