Lectionary
The lectionary is a collection of bible passages appointed to be read at public worship. We use the Revised Common Lectionary (RCL). This lectionary is a three-year cycle of readings (Year A, B and C).
We are currently in Year C which began on the first Sunday of Advent 2009.
Using the RCL, at each service (Saturday 5:15pm, and Sunday 9:30 am), we hear a passage from
- the Old Testament, Apocrypha or Acts of the Apostles,
- from the Book of Revelation or the Epistles, and
- from one of the four Gospels.
and also read or sing a Psalm.

Daily OfficeOld Testament, New Testament, Psalm, and Gospel readings for every day of the year, in New Revised Standard (NRSV) and Revised Standard (RSV) Versions of the Bible. (After clicking the link, scroll half way down.)

Many thanks to all who supported and continue to support our Young Adult Service Corp mission worker Joanna. On Thursday, Sept 2 we had a farewell pot luck. Pictures to come...
The vestry voted, on August 18th, to list the Lewis house for sale. If you are interested in being on the committee to work out the details or would like to know more about the decision, please contact one of the wardens, Jim White or Patricia Jue. Also click here...
Fair trade coffee St. James Church uses fair trade coffee. We see this as one step we can take in helping to alleviate poverty in the world by helping these farmers provide financially for their families.
