At its most basic, prayer is a conversation with God. Sometimes, it an informal thing. Other times we take comfort in praying words prayed by others; the Book of Common Prayer is a good place to find these. In the Episcopal church, we also pray corporately (together). This unites us in our common faith. It is also one way we care for each other.  One of the best expressions of corporate prayer is the Prayers of the People.
