Pentecost 2010: A Birthday Party for the Church
For Pentecost, the church was decorated with red balloons.  Why?
Because we celebrate the birthday of the church!

Pentecost is when the church was born.  The Holy Spirit came down to the disciples, and to us all.
The youth choir sang.

Of course we had birthday gift, and cake.

And we sang "Happy Birthday."

We also learned that a balloon is much better if someone blows air into it.

In the same way, we are much better if we have the Holy Spirit in us.

We share Holy Communion, the celebration of our community together and God's promise to be with us always.
We join in more fellowship at the Parish Hall.
Afterwards, we released the red balloons into the sky as a symbol of our mission to "go forth, and spread the Good News."
