St. James is a community where we come together in Christ to develop spiritually; find opportunities for outreach; receive comfort when in need; and engage in sacred experiences through our liturgy, music, fellowship and mutual ministry.
As part of our discernment process during the Interim period, the search committee crafted a new mission statement. This statement was developed based on the results of the October 2009 Parish-wide survey and the November 2009 Focus groups. The vestry voted to adopt the statement on December 16, 2009. This replaces the previous version, "Our mission is to welcome all, reach out to others and grow in faith."
As part of Mutual Ministry, we discuss how the leadership groups and the decisions of St James are shaped by how we develop spiritually ( and offer ways for others to develop), how we do outreach, how we receive and give comfort (or facilitate in providing comfort), and foster scared experiences, as a faithful body in Christ.
