St. James' Episcopal Church, Clinton, is celebrating its 150th year. On May 2, 1862, Bishop William H. DeLancy gave his consent to build an Episcopal church in Clinton; Episcopalians had been worshiping in Clinton as early as 1832. St. James' church was incorporated on May 19, 1862. The name  was chosen in recognition of the Feast of St. Philip and St. James (May 1st).  The present church on Williams Street was built in 1865.

A number of events are scheduled throughout the year to celebrate this milestone. The first event was an auction on Saturday, February 11.

Our main celebrations will be June 8-10, 2012 with a Friday block party, Saturday celebration dinner, and special Sunday worship service with The Rt. Rev. Gladstone "Skip" Adams III, Bishop of the Diocese of Central New York, presiding.
